What to Expect (Carnforth)

Coming in to any new group can be a nerve-wracking experience. We’re aware that it is a big step for some people to turn up at a church meeting, so we want to help you to understand what’s happening when you come to a meeting at Carnforth Christians Alive, and hopefully you will enjoy your time with us.

Time of Meeting

10am on Sundays

Where we Meet

Gummers Howe Community Centre, Carnforth, LA5 9BH

What to Expect

Our Sunday celebrations are a chance for us to come together to celebrate who God is and what He has done for us. We do this through…….

A time of worship where we encourage each other to openly express thanks, praise and adoration to God.  We seek to be led by the person of the Holy Spirit because He knows best how to please God.  Music plays a big role, but we view it only as a means to aid us in praising God and expressing our love to Him. We encourage the whole church to participate in singing, praying, telling stories of God’s goodness and using gifts that God has given us to encourage each other.

If you don’t understand something that happens in one of the worship times, we would really like you to tell someone so that we can explain what has just happened.

A welcome and announcements about upcoming events and updates on what the church is involved in.

A speaker who delivers a message based on the truths in the Bible.  This is an important time for the church to be reminded of who God is, who we are and where we are going.

Sometimes a time of response. This is sometimes a quiet time where we think and talk to God quietly, without anyone else involved. Sometimes an appeal will be made in connection with the message we have heard, an opportunity to make a public response to what God is saying to us.

A cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit. Building relationships is important to us, so we love to stay around after the service and catch up. It also gives anyone who is coming for the first time a chance to be introduced to someone and receive a personal welcome.

Sometimes we’ll have a meal together. Anyone is welcome to stay for these family meals.

If you have children, we also run age-appropriate activities for them.
