Our Journey
Christians Alive Church was pioneered in a front room in January 1999 by a group of around 20 people led by founding pastor Ron Tempest and his wife Barbara. Since then, the church meetings have moved venues due to growth. In 2005 the church took offices in White Cross business estate, and shortly after that leased their current main venue, The Chapel.
On 1st June 2006, Ron and Barbara decided to re-position themselves, moving to sunny Andalucia in Spain. Marcus Mosey took on the role of lead pastor. Ron remains to this day an advisor and overseer to Marcus and the church, and visits the church four to five times a year. In January 2008 a group of people from the congregation were planted out to Carnforth to start a new work in the community they live in. Uche Okere and his wife Courage lead this plant.
Marcus and his wife Louise are passionate about seeing normal people finding their place and serving in God’s family, and together embodying something powerful and attractive to those who don’t yet have a relationship with God. They believe that Jesus loves people and that He alone is the answer to the hurt and longing in our society. They are also passionate about Church in the Home, Acts-style church communities who do life together. They are looking to plant them in the estates and suburbs of Lancaster and the surrounding areas. The first one is due to be launched in Scotforth in early 2012.
