Sundays – What to expect

No two Sundays at Christians Alive are exactly the same.  If you don’t understand something that happens in one of our meetings, please tell us about it. We don’t want anyone going home confused or troubled.  If you visit us, you can roughly expect:-

A warm welcome and a time of worship where we openly express our thanks to God. We encourage the whole church to participate in singing, praying, telling stories of God’s goodness and using gifts that God has given us to encourage each other. It’s because we believe that every person has something to bring to the family worship time.
A sermon. Most weeks there will be a speaker who brings a message from the bible. This is an important time for us to be reminded of who God is, who we are and to grow in our understanding of our part in God’s great plan.

Our response. This is sometimes a quiet time of reflection and response. Sometimes an appeal will be made in connection with the message, an opportunity to make a public response to what God is saying to us. Our main response is how we live on Monday.

A prayer team is available after the service for anyone who is sick or struggling with life.

Tea and coffee is served afterwards, providing a great opportunity to get to know others.

Young adult lunches regularly take place in term time, often followed by teaching, discussion and prayer.

In the week

Small Groups

We encourage everyone to join one of our small groups which meet in local homes at various locations around the city. We talk, laugh, study the Bible, pray and ‘do life’ together in these groups, and look to reach out to the wider community. Small groups are where relationships are built and where people grow in confidence in expressing their faith.

Mondays

Prayer 7am – 8am @ the Chapel.  Start the week in the best way!

‘ManDay’

Every Monday, fitness and sport from 7pm to 9pm. (Men only, sorry ladies). For more information about venue and activity, contact Dan Vernon on [add number tbc].

Wednesdays

Netball Ministry

We have two teams who play on Wednesday nights through the autumn and winter in the local Sportsreach league. Some practices in the off-season. This mainly an outreach, but women who enjoy sport and want to share the good news of Jesus with others are welcome to get involved  (Sorry men, not for you!).

RESOLUTE

School Years 7-13, 7:00pm-9.00pm, Termly

Resolute is a termly, worship event hosted by the Lancaster Churches, aimed at 11-18s from across the area, which grew out of the Landmark conference in 2015.  There is plenty of singing, dancing and praising God, a talk and time for the young people to respond to God, personally and corporately.  There is also a tuck shop.  Resolute aims to be a life changing event, as well as an awesome time for young people to come together and worship God.
