What to Expect
Our Sunday Celebrations are a chance for us to celebrate who God is and what He has done for us. Every week is a bit different, but you can roughly expect….
A time of worship where we encourage each other to openly express thanks, praise and adoration to God. We seek to be led by the person of the Holy Spirit because He knows best how to please God; we realise we cannot fully worship God without Him. Music is very much central in our worship times together, but we view it only as a means to aid us in praising God and expressing our love to Him. We encourage the whole church to participate in singing, praying, telling stories of God’s goodness and using gifts that God has given us to encourage each other.
If you don’t understand something that happens in one of the worship times, we would really like you to tell someone so that we can explain what has just happened.
A welcome and announcements about upcoming events, updates on what’s happening at Christians Alive.
Many weeks there will be a speaker who brings a message based on the truths in the Bible. This is an important time for us to be reminded of who God is, who we are and to grow in our understanding and knowledge of God’s great plan.
Sometimes a time of response. This is sometimes a quiet time where we think and talk to God quietly, without anyone else involved. Sometimes an appeal will be made in connection with the message we have heard, an opportunity to make a public response to what God is saying to us.
Tea or coffee for those new to the church, and an opportunity to get to know a few people from the church.
Prayer Ministry. At the end of the meeting, there is a private area at the front of church where you can meet with the prayer ministry team to talk or pray.
Sometimes we’ll have a meal together. Anyone is welcome to stay for these family meals, usually on the first Sunday of the month.
Extra Children’s work. As well as GNR8 and Youth Talk at 10am, we do offer a children’s work for all ages from 3 years old upwards during the second part of our Sunday Celebration, usually starting at 11:30am. We ask that parents pick up their children at 12:15pm.
